TOWN OF LAFLECHE
BYLAW NO. 393-03
BEING A BYLAW TO GOVERN BONFIRES IN TOWN
The Council of the Town of Lafleche, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
1. All burning of bonfires or other open fires must be under strict adult supervision.
2. No burning of bonfires or other open fires shall be allowed between the hours of 12:00
midnight and 8:00 a.m. unless by special permit approved by Town Council.
3. No burning of bonfires or other open fires shall be allowed when conditions are
conducive to or contribute to the spreading of fire, such as during a period of extremely
dry weather or during periods when the wind is adversely high or strong.
4. The burning of waste material, including rubbish, garbage, garden and lawn refuse or
other material, as regulated by Town Bylaw No. 61, is hereby exempt from provision
of this bylaw.
5. The RCMP, Town Council and the Town appointed or authorized employees of the
town, shall have authority to determine when conditions are not suitable to the burning
of a bonfire or other open fires.
6. A person who contravenes this bylaw is guilty of an office and liable on summary
conviction to a fine of not less than $200 nor more than $2,000 and in default of
payment to imprisonment for not less than thirty days nor more that ninety days.
